Marion Dane Abrams is a Vermont based video producer with a diverse background in documentary film making, outdoor sports and advertising.
After studies at the Museum School in Boston and a degree in film from NYU, Marion started her film career as an assistant editor on PBS specials and NOVA episodes. She worked on the Frontline episode “Who Killed Adam Mann,” a Columbia Dupont award winning film on fatal child abuse, then decided to leave the big city. With a few stops on the way (including several summers as a teaching assistant at the International Film and Television Workshops) Marion settled in Vermont to stay.
After settling in Vermont, Marion saw a need for high quality, locally produced video. In 1996 her experience and friendships in the industry led her to create Madmotion, llc.. Since then Madmotion has provided video services for clients including Blue Cross and Blue Shield, The Vermont Department of Tourism, Vermont Ski Areas Association, The Vermont Lottery, and The American Lighting Association.
Marion's combined background in fine arts and documentary film allow her to develop compelling stories using carefully crafted images. She is known for her sensitivity toward interview subjects in the field. Most importantly - Marion loves Vermont.
Marion holds a B.F.A in Film from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts and studied painting at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
